Hello,
We would like to update you on several items related to West LRT and the Sarcee Trail/17 Avenue interchange project:
1. The Transportation Department's report on traffic analysis of 17th Avenue & 45 Street SW related to West LRT will be discussed at the SPC on Land Use, Planning & Transportation meeting on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 beginning at 1:00 PM in the Engineeering Traditions Committee Room on the first floor of Historic City Hall. I've attached the report for your review. This is an opportunity to make a 5 minute presentation to the Committee with your comments.
2. As many of you know, on June 9, 2008, Council directed that City Administration conduct a coordinated design review of the West LRT alignment from 47 Street SW to Sirocco Drive and the 17th Avenue/Sarcee Trail interchange and report to the SPC on Land Use, Planning & Transportation Committee by September 2008. As part of this review process, the West LRT team is hosting 2 public information sessions to display the interchange designs, along with considerations and criteria used to determine a preferred design. These information sessions will be held:
* Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 5-8 PM at the Strathcona Community Centre (277 Strathcona Drive SW), and * Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 5-8 PM at the Westgate Community Centre (4943 - 8 Avenue SW).
Both sessions will present the same information. City technical staff will be on hand to answer your questions and receive your comments. Drawings will be posted on the West LRT website (www.westlrt.ca) within a few days following the information sessions.
3. Be sure to visit the West LRT website, www.westlrt.ca for updates on the West LRT project. The Report on the Community Summit held on Saturday, June 21 is posted there for your information.
4. The first 9-member citizen committee meeting was held Tuesday, July 15 to discuss the first steps in developing the Public Engagement Plan. An additional 2 meetings are are scheduled in the next 2 weeks. Meeting notes will be posted on www.westlrt.ca.
We hope you find these updates informative....please share them with your neighbors!
Have a great weekend!
